Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 08:47AM A Microsoft product manager couldn't correctly explain the "Vista Capable" marketing slogan, according to recent filings in a lawsuit that claims the company misled consumers with a prerelease Vista campaign last year - PC world
I will attempt to explain what Vista Capable really means. Maybe Microsoft will give me that poor guys Job.
If you bought a PC labelled Vista capable and found out you had been mislead, I would advise you to join the class action suit which is currently going on in the US. It is alleged that Windows Vista Capable stickers the company put on PCs violated consumer protection laws and were an example of deceptive business practices.
"The suit also calls into question the fairness of Microsoft's "Express Upgrade" coupon program that allowed users to upgrade to Vista from XP machines for little or no cost after buying a "Windows Vista Capable" machine." - PC world
Microsoft has been reeling from the backlash following massive consumer disappointment, after the release of Vista. Microsoft is currently giving some dissatisfied customers the option of downgrading to XP pro. I think Microsoft should do an entire product recall on Vista. it could end up costing them millions if they wait too long.

Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 05:42AM I was rather fascinated by an article that I read on Wired today. I've always known Linux was a great operating system, but the thought that Google was running its entire network of over 10,000 servers on Linux! What a plus for Linux. So why would a monster like Google entrust its entire network to an open source operating system?
Linux has its fair share of issues, since I upgraded to the latest version of Linux's Ubuntu, I have had problems going online which I find rather surprising for an operating system that virtually runs the Internet.

Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at 07:28PM No. I would prefer a more open source approach, maybe Linux, but then anybody could write software for my brain even without my permission. no, I think I will go with apple instead, much more trendy and less likely to crash I think, no I hope.
These are the type of questions we will be trying to answer in a few years time when we can actually record our entire life in full multimedia video, voice and text.
Microsoft is currently researching this concept. The program is called MyLifeBits. It is still currently in the research phase however, the possibilities of this type of technology are mind boggling and the applications are too scary to comprehend.
When complete the idea is to make it possible to record every aspect of your life using a camera that you wear and a microphone. The camera is activated any time it senses you have company or when it detects that you need to take a photograph or record a video. It will also record all your conversations.
I don't even want to fathom what could happen if your memory crashed. And if you died, would you see the "blue screen of death"?

Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 01:32PM Many blogger's have over looked the importance of stumbleupon.com when it comes to promoting their blogs and attracting more traffic. Truth be told stumbleupon.com can be the most power full tool in your arsenal when building a website or a blog. I have realized that all of my articles which have been reviewed on stumbleupon have done extremely well.
I had one article which in fact had 7 reviews on stumbleupon and 4 of them were not actually very good, but the effect was tremendous! I was able to get 10,000 hits to that article alone.
Fellow blogger's this is an awesome opportunity. Its simple and its free. And you don't have to write a whole essay. Even 5 lines will do.
.or alternatively you could just click on this button.

Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 07:34AM I remember the good old days quite a while ago when it became possible to make a phone call to your your mum and she could see you at the same time. What a huge leap forward it was going to be, and all that hype we get when there is some new technology that someone wants to sell us by hook or crook.
The video phone in all its forms wether it be through Skype, your mobile phone your windows live messenger, or even through your regular phone line, is arguably the most unwanted technology of all time.
Video calling in all its forms is simply expensive, or simply impractical. Its not going to work .
