How to have sex with your Blog.

Posted on Monday, January 21, 2008 at 08:37AM by Registered CommenterAlfred Opare Saforo in , | Comments2 Comments

Of course, its not what you're thinking. No you can't physically have sex with your blog,at least not yet, and certainly not today.

However, to maintain the relevancy of my chosen headline and to prevent my post being buried alive in the archives of Digg or in the Bowels of Stumbleupon I will proceed to explain to you how you can have sex with your blog (God Help Me).

What I should really be saying is "How to Sex Up your Blog", as you can see I Sexed Up the title a bit to get your attention. And it worked why? because you are reading this. So how do you sex up your Blog?

The whole process can be simplified thus;

  1. Always choose a great publishing platform

    - You see Publishing platforms like, Wordpress, Blogger or square space are a bit like a wife/girlfriend once you choose one you're pretty much stuck with them for life. A divorce/breakup is an expensive enterprise. Choose with care here is a list of seven the Best platforms starting from the best.
      1. Squarespace
      2. Wordpress
      3. Serendipity
      4. Moveabletype
      5. b2evolution
      6. Typo
      7. Mephisto
  2.

    Keep it Simple,Relevant and Focused

    - Write original content. Be yourself and let your unique personality shine through your blog .If you can't write it yourself get someone else cleverer than you to write it for you, if you need some inspiration , try reading some other great Blogs I recommend,

    1. Walyou

    2. Jonathanfields

    3. Avivadirectory

    4. Squidoo

    5. Problogger
    6. Jimkukral
    7. Alvinpoh

and always remember to leave Meaningful comments for other Bloggers, so that you can drop a free Link to their site. This will help to build your own sites Popularity.

3.

Social Book marking is your key to going Viral

- Be your own promoter. if you right your own story and you have all the Digg this and stumble this buttons available, don't sit there waiting for someone to bookmark you. Be the first to submit your article, If you don't have a high traffic site God knows how long it will take you before some kind passerby decides to Digg your incredible post. Every article on your blog is a potential Moneymaker and traffic grabber, so market every article like crazy. If possible do a search for similar topics and post at least drop a comment with your link of course. This increases your popularity, gives you back inks, and it will give your blog enormous exposure.

4.

Don't do it for the money ,do it for love.

If you come to blogging with the intention of making an easy income, you might be very disappointedly. For every successful blog there are 10 dead blogs. The result of unrealistic expectations and poor quality blogging. What people don't understand is, why would some one want to come around and read your spammy blog, with bits of Adsense code randomly littering the pages? People are not stupid and they know quality when they see it. When you blog for love the money will follow. eventually.

Blogging is certainly not as good as sex. And dude you can't have sex with your blog sorry.

#4 could've been #1. I think this is why so many blogs fail. People need to stick to what they are passionate about. Bad motivation causes loss of all motivation.
