Entrecard/Stumbleupon/Digg Traffic Blogs make little or no money.

I know this sounds like nonsense but hear me out.

First of all let me clarify a few things here. There are some Big blogs out there who make a fortune everyday. Those are not the ones I'm talking about.

The blogs I am referring to are the ones probably started by some obscure cat lover  in a corner of Vancouver , or some Enthusiastic Malaysian/Pinnoy blogger who is keen on proving to his friends he is making a million dollars online (when he really hasn't made a dime.).

I am referring to the new Blogger who started his blog 3 months ago and has littered it with Adsense code and widgets, hoping this alone will bring traffic. This is to the stay at home mom, who spends all day blogging about her blog.

Entrecard, Stumbleupon and Digg traffic is Addictive. Let me be honest at a point I was hopelessly addicted to SU (Stumbleupon) traffic, my day was not complete without a hit from SU. There I was all alone with my Bligblogblag, and the odd Hit every other day (15 visitors on a really good Day), no page rank and a huge Alexa ranking to shake off. Then suddenly 1000 hits a day! I was delirious with excitement. That first day I literally fell of my chair. I was Hooked.

    SU /Entrecard/Digg Traffic is sophisticated.

Look at the type of people who use Entrecard. blogger's, blogger's and more blogger's. Digg is made up of Nerd's Nerd's and a heard of Geek's. SU users are 23-35 year old web-savvy socialite, divorcee who is in such a hurry they only have time to thumb up the odd funny picture.

Digg users are too Clever to click through an ad on your blog. Entrecarders will not look beyond your widget, clicking ads remains a mystery to them. Stumblers will hardly wait around for your page to load. They bounce of so fast, NASA recently commissioned some scientists to calculate their escape velocity (could come in handy when we need to leave Mars.)

The point I'm trying to make is, these guys don't hang around long enough to engage with your content.

Organic Traffic The Holy Grail of Blogging.

Search Engines are the key to Achieving real traffic. When someone does a search and comes to your website, that person is more likely to interact with your content and hopefully click through to an Ad.

Real subscribers are also good for quality traffic. Note I said "real". I don't like the type of subscribers you buy with Entrecard credits. They are again what I call sub-prime traffic, they just help Get your subscriber numbers up. They might never come to your blog again.

When all is said and done I will always say that Good content is King. There are too many Blogs about blogging and post's about blogging.

The Internet is choked with clueless blogger's trying to tell the world how they love blogging about blogging. Too many I can make you rich Blogs who never get rich themselves . How could they possibly  help you out of your poverty? This goes to all the Day Job Nuker's, and 1 million in one year blogger's out there.

Real money lies in organic traffic. No matter how good your numbers and your rankings are you will never make a penny when you put your content before the wrong Audience.

    Amen.

Probably the Hardest Way to Make Money Online

It really depends on how you monetize your blog. If you have per impression ads that pay fairly well, you can make quite a bit from digg/stumbleupon traffic. For example I have some banner ads that pay $8.00 per 1000 views. This means that if there is a digg storm then I could potentially make a good amount of money.

Okay, this is hilarious, thanks for posting it. Don't forget to tell people how advertising for one day on an entrecard site is not effective enough, even if you're only paying credits. I wonder if I'd do better with a banner exchange program?
